This figure visualizes how 4 different biomarkers can differentiate between a high urine concentration and a low urine concentration, which will be tested in year 1 of the project. The high concentration suggests a low fluid intake, whereas a low urine concentration suggests sufficient fluid intake. The 4 biomarkers are thirst sensation (yes vs. no), bodyweight difference from baseline (≥2% vs. <2%), urine frequency in the last 24 hours (≤6x vs. ≥7x), and urine color (≥3 vs. ≤2).
