The figure visualizes the design for the study in year 2 of the project. It describes that we will recruit from n=140 wildland firefighters (WLF) during their District Critical Training a total of n=30 firefighters considered to be low drinkers (reflected by high urine concentration and plasma copeptin). If WLFs are not considered low drinkers they are ineligible. The eligible WLF will be divided into two groups: 1) a group receiving hydration education and after this, they will actively perform self-assessment, and 2) a control group, not receiving education, performing business as usual. The outcome is that we will measure if there is a difference between groups in 5-day fluid intake and urine concentration.
